The Lifting Unique Learners Up mission is simple: empower families with the information they need to best make educational decisions for their children, whether that is assistance understanding evaluation reports, advocating for services to meet their children’s needs in the current school, or planning out a school path that best fits the family’s goals.
Ultimately, I want to ensure every learner has the tools and support they need to thrive.
The Explainer
Everything you always wanted to know (and don’t have to be afraid to ask) about assessment data.
Whether your child recently did not qualify for the gifted and talented program or was just labeled with a disability in the school setting, you may have questions about the scope and nature of the evaluation(s) used and I am here to analyze that with you and leave you with a clear understanding of what it all means.
The volume of data, especially when it is presented in unfamiliar statistical terms, can be incredibly overwhelming and it can leave families wondering how their child is doing relative to peers and anxious to make sure their learner has everything needed to be successful.

The Future Planner
For the family who wants to lay the groundwork to set their learner up for later success by planning now.
The Advocate
For parents of kids with disabilities who need someone to fight with them on behalf of their child’s best interests.
For an upcoming ARD/IEP meeting or 504 plan meeting, we will meet to discuss your goals for your child, any concerns going into the meeting, changes you want to make, and more—you will enter the meeting with a plan of how to best communicate your child’s needs and get the appropriate supports. You will also have more familiarity with the terms used in special education to maximize your understanding of what the school presents.
Included:
60-90 minute videoconference meeting
60 minute document review prior to meeting
Optional: Meeting attendance
I can attend the meeting in person (within 30 miles of central Houston) or via videoconferencing (nationwide) and help advocate for the plan we have already discussed.
Optional: Phone/email support between meetings
I can be available to answer questions about the process, what to do if the school is not implementing the plan, and help process additional information shared by the school (e.g. progress reports).
